Eidyia (or Idyia) was an Okeanis nymph of the town of Kolkhis (Colchis) in Aia at the far eastern end of the Black Sea and the wife of the magician-king Aeetes. Her name was derived from the Greek word eidô, "to see" or "know." In the familial sense she probably personified the magical power of the eye, which in Greek superstition was the source of the witch's supernatural power, strengthened by the beams of the ancestral sun.

This is the 2nd print of a 5-print 'Gods & Goddesses' series that Jeremy created. Each week for the next month we will release a new print with the final week being a diptych print.

About the artist: Jeremy Beswick (www.studio600art.co.uk, Facebook) is an artist from the UK who primarily creates his artwork with graphite pencil. His visionary artwork of the human form is a combination of line, layers of shade, shape, pattern and form.

Please note: There will likely be a timed edition of this image in a smaller dimension without any hand-finishing (no gold coloring) at a later date.
